Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told ESPN that he won’t be moving to sign another defender after Jan Vertonghen’s injury.
Spurs continued their incredible recent form with a sixth straight Premier League win this afternoon, with a thumping 4-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion.

Harry Kane got the ball rolling with a thumping finish from Christian Eriksen’s deft pass, before Eriksen’s drive took two deflections and went into the goal off Gareth McAuley.
Spurs pressed home their advantage, as Kane grabbed two more goals in the second half to seal his hat-trick and hand Tottenham a convincing 4-0 victory.
However, the one major blow for Spurs is that defender Jan Vertonghen was substituted with a nasty-looking injury in the second half, as he rolled his ankle on the touchline.

The Belgian international picked up an ankle injury at Euro 2016, and there are major fears that he has suffered a similar injury having damaged the same ankle, in what would be a huge blow for Tottenham.
After the final whistle at White Hart Lane, manager Mauricio Pochettino told ESPN that Vertonghen’s injury doesn’t look good, but he won’t be moving to sign another defender in his place during this month’s transfer window.
Pochettino can use Ben Davies or Kevin Wimmer as Tottenham’s left-sided centre back in a back three, but it’s clear that there is major concern over Vertonghen’s injury blow.
“It looks very bad,” said Pochettino. “We feel very disappointed, it is a situation you never like to happen. It looks very bad but we need to wait a little bit — tomorrow or Monday, we will be able to assess it better. His ankle is badly [swollen].”
“You can see in the game that Ben Davies can play [there] and I think we have plenty of players, not to move in the market. We do not need another [defender],” he added.
