Tottenham Hotspur could welcome Harry Kane back this weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told Football.London that Harry Kane thinks he’s fit to play against Burnley, but he doesn’t care what Kane thinks.

Spurs are back in action this weekend after a lengthy break, having had no fixture to play last weekend.

The last outing was a home victory over Leicester City nearly two weeks ago, and Pochettino will be looking to make it five Premier League wins in a row on Saturday.

Spurs travel to East Lancashire to take on Burnley, who have found a little bit of form under Sean Dyche having gone seven league games unbeaten.

Tottenham do have a huge boost ahead of the trip to Turf Moor, as star striker Harry Kane returned to full training on Wednesday.

Kane has been out of action for more than a month now having picked up an ankle injury against Manchester United, which was expected to keep him out until March.

However, Kane is a notoriously quick healer, and is already back and potentially ready to be included in Saturday’s game against the Clarets.

Pochettino has now admitted that Kane thinks he’s ready to play, but he doesn’t care what Kane thinks as he, along with his staff and medical department, will be the ones to decide whether Kane is ready to play, not the striker himself.

“Yeah, but I don’t care if he feels ready or wants to play or not, like another player,” said Pochettino. “I’ll decide with my coaching staff, with the doctor and the medical staff and sports science staff. Always with every player that came from an injury or illness, it’s about the structure, when it’s possible to play or not. Of course if you ask him 10 days ago he was ready to play! But in the end the last word is always myself. I take the risk, the decision and everything that is going on in the team,” he added.
