Tottenham Hotspur take on West Ham United on Wednesday evening.

Mauricio Pochettino, Manager of Tottenham Hotspur looks on during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool at Wembley Stadium on October 22, 2017 in London, England.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to reporters ahead of his side’s EFL Cup clash against West Ham United, with his comments published online by Football.London.

Unsurprisingly, the Spurs boss was asked about the prospect of some of his previously injured stars making it back into the starting line-up for Wednesday’s match, with Mousa Dembele and Danny Rose both close in that regard.

When asked about the Belgian midfielder, Pochettino said, “He’s on the list. I need to decide tomorrow the starting XI but it’s okay. He’s been doing well in the last few days and it’s important to have available nearly all the squad.”

Dembele has missed Tottenham’s last six matches with a bruised ankle and his importance cannot be understated even if Spurs have done well in his absence.

The 30-year-old will not be rushed back due to his possible impact with the games coming thick and fast, but it would be good to see him get some minutes under his belt against the Hammers.

Speaking of Rose, the Tottenham boss said, “We need to wait until tomorrow but in my head there is the possibility for him to start the game tomorrow, yes.”

The England international was an unused substitute against Liverpool last weekend and got just 10 minutes when Tottenham drew with Real Madrid in the Champions League a few days earlier.
