A lack of Premier League football for Juan Foyth recently sparked speculation over his future.

Argentine giants Boca Juniors have the Tottenham defender on a three-man shortlist, according to a report in his homeland from Infobae.

Foyth played only cup competitions for Spurs last season, but Tottenham fans should not be concerned that they are going to cash in.

They only signed him from Estudiantes last summer, and don’t bet on Mauricio Pochettino cutting the cord on Foyth’s Tottenham adventure.

He made this crystal clear a couple of months ago, when he told Football.London that he believes Foyth has the potential to be a big success.

Pochettino said: “He is 20 now and a great talent too. He only needs time to adapt himself to the Premier League.

“He is going to surprise many people. Juan is a great kid with a lot of quality to become one of the fantastic centre-backs in the Premier League and Europe too.”

A loan spell is not out of the question, but if Spurs did let him go, it would not make much sense to send him back to Argentina when their goal is for him to adapt to English football.

Getting him to the level Pochettino describes will be a true test of his coaching ability, and Spurs have no reason to rush the centre-back, or let him go.
