Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told Football.London that he is in love with chairman Daniel Levy – despite the fact that they still have their differences.

After a tumultuous 2013-2014 campaign under Andre Villas-Boas and then Tim Sherwood, Tottenham swooped to land Pochettino as their new manager in the summer of 2014, prising him away from Premier League rivals Southampton.

The Argentinian managed a fifth-place finish in his first season, but has now become one of the most highly-rated coaches in Europe after mounting Premier League title challenges with Spurs in the last two seasons.

Now, Spurs are on course for another title bid this season, whilst Pochettino is even making Tottenham a force in Europe, having beaten Real Madrid 3-1 in the Champions League at Wembley Stadium last week.

With progression into the Champions League knockout stages already guaranteed, Pochettino’s work in developing Spurs over the last three-and-a-half years has been incredible, and he deserves all the plaudits he is receiving.

Pochettino may still need to win a trophy before convincing some, but Tottenham fans are ecstatic with the progress their club is making both on and off the pitch.

Now, Pochettino has Football.London that sometimes, he doesn’t want to be kind to chairman Daniel Levy, as the pair still have their differences despite spending so long working together.

Pochettino did though add that he is ‘in love’ with Levy for giving him a chance to manage Spurs, writing history with the club thanks to Levy’s support.

“It’s true that sometimes I don’t want to be so kind with Daniel because Daniel knows more than me that sometimes we have differences, but I am in love with him,” said Pochettino. “Because he is the type of person who gave me one day, three and a half years ago, the possibility to be here.”

“To be able to write some history for this amazing club, to start to discover a different style of club, a different kind of project. To be here to me is more than a pleasure. I am so happy and my family and that is why I am so proud,” he added.
