De Bie was rushed to hospital and placed in intensive care after the game against France, which he incredibly played on in after the injury.
Speaking to Tottenham’s official website, head of development John McDermott said that senior figures at the club have expressed concern, and the teenager will not be rushed back.
Dimitri Payet signing is bad news for Tottenham winger
He said: “I’ve just been with Mauricio Pochettino and Hugo Lloris – they were both asking about Jonathan. Everyone has been concerned and everyone sends their best wishes to him. In a very short period of time he’s made a big impact here.
“I’m not going to put any time-frame on when he’s going to come back.
“He’s incredibly brave and tough with the way he plays and the way he’s been since he came to England last year. He’s a terrific young man and I’m sure now that he’s going to be on a slow road to recovery but I’ve got no doubt that with his personality and desire, he’s going to be able to deal with the situation that he’s in and come back even stronger.”

De Bie signed in the summer from Belgian side KV Mechelen, with Spurs beating competition from Liverpool to win his signature.
He has a long way to go in order to reach the first team, but will hope this is only a temporary bump in his journey to establishing himself as a star.
