The Owls welcome Simon Grayson’s side to Hillsborough on Saturday afternoon.
Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal has confirmed to the club website that Joe Wildsmith is back in contention for his side ahead of the visit of Preston on Saturday.
Barry Bannan and Jack Hunt are also available having recovered from minor knocks picked up in last weekend’s win at Wolves.

“There are no new injuries, we recovered Joe and have no other problems. Of course, we want all the players fit and ready to play,” he said.
“When we receive one player we are happy and it’s the same with Joe. He’s been training two-three weeks but now he is training at 100% and this is important,” he added.
Wildsmith’s only appearance for the Owls this season came in August’s League Cup defeat at the hands of Cambridge, and a finger injury has sidelined the youngster since October.

He is unlikely to displace first-choice stopper Keiren Westwood, but having him back available is a boost to the Owls squad. Wildsmith will now contest the second-choice role with fellow young goalkeeper Cameron Dawson, who has deputised in Westwood’s absence on several occasions in recent weeks.
Wednesday will still be without Gary Hooper this weekend, with the striker still some way away from a return after pulling his hamstring in the recent draw with Fulham.

Visitors Preston are hoping to welcome back striker Jermaine Beckford, who has not featured since the start of November.
Aiden McGeady returns to Hillsborough with a point to prove having endured a difficult loan spell with the Owls last season, and the winger told the club website he is determined to put in a performance this weekend.

“I didn’t really have the best of times at Hillsborough,” he said.
“Towards the end I kind of lost my place in the team and then towards the end of the season when the team were in the Play-Offs I wasn’t really playing at all.
“There is an added motivation, especially when you are going somewhere that you would want to do well and probably get one over on them,” he added.
The hosts go into the game just a point outside the top six, while Preston are three points further back in mid-table.
