Mark Hughes’ side were moments away from earning their first victory of the season against West Bromwich Albion.

Stoke City fans have taken to social media to share their frustrations after their side conceded a last-gasp equaliser against West Bromwich Albion at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday.

Visiting manager Tony Pulis was back in the Potteries for his 1000th match as a manager, and having spent so many of them in the home dugout at Stoke, home fans knew what to expect from the match with the first half a physical, tactical battle that was light on chances.

The second period saw relief sweep through the home fans as Joe Allen gave his side a vital lead. It was one they held until stoppage time, when Salomon Rondon headed home from a corner to ensure Pulis returned to the West Midlands with a share of the spoils.

Stoke’s point did at least move them off the bottom of the table thanks to Sunderland’s defeat at home to Crystal Palace, but next up for Hughes’ men is a daunting trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.

The reaction from Stoke fans was mixed, with several seeing the positives in an improved performance, but many understandably frustrated at their team’s inability to see the game out and secure what would have been a confidence boosting three points.

The majority of Stoke fans on social media look to be in favour of Mark Hughes remaining in charge for the time being, with the impressive work the Welshman has done with the Potters to date earning him the time to turn their poor start around.
