The Dons are looking to make up ground on the Old Firm as they travel to Fir Park on Friday evening.

December has been a tricky period so far for Aberdeen. Derek McInnes’ side have won just once in the month’s four matches, a run which has seen them slip to seven points off second place – though they do have a game in hand on Rangers.

The Dons will be looking to close the gap on Friday evening as they take on Motherwell, who are suffering from a similar festive slump and have not won since mid-November. The Steelmen sit just two points off the bottom and could temporarily ease relegation fears with a win on Friday.

The Key Battle – Louis Moult vs Andrew Considine

The Motherwell forward has made a name for himself this season, netting all four goals in September’s win over Hamilton before following that up more recently with a well-taken brace against Celtic in his side’s agonising 4-3 defeat.

Looking to keep Moult quiet will be Andrew Considine, who will be making his 26th appearance of the season for the Dons at the back.

Last Meeting:

Aberdeen ran out comfortable winners in April’s meeting between the two sides, claiming all three points after a 4-1 win at Pittodrie.

Motherwell did earn a victory in the most recent clash at Fir Park, however, with Moult’s winner securing a 2-1 win for the hosts in March.
