The former Plymouth Argyle striker was let go by Wolvehampton Wanderers last week.

Plymouth Argyle fans are reacting with excitement to Derek Adams’ revelation that the club have offered a contract to Joe Mason after the striker’s release by Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves released Mason from his contract ahead of last week’s transfer deadline, allowing him to sign for another club outside of the window.
And speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Adams said his offer currently sits with the 27-year-old’s agent, and, if accepted, will see the player return to Plymouth on a deal that runs beyond the end of this season.
Plymouth-born Mason began his career at Home Park, where he scored 13 goals in 54 games before leaving for Cardiff City in 2011.

And with Mason having spent the bulk of his career since then playing Championship football, the prospect of his return has, understandably, sparked a positive reaction on Twitter…
Wolves paid £3.5 million to sign Mason from Cardiff three years ago [Transfermarkt]. However, he only played 39 times for the Molineux side, scoring on seven occasions, and made his last appearance in May 2017.
The former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international spent the first half of the campaign on loan to Plymouth’s League One rivals, Portsmouth.
