Andy Townsend has said on talkSPORT (8:41am, February 23, 2023) that Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez could be a success at Anfield.
The former Chelsea and Aston Villa player has said that Nunez is “raw”, and thinks that Liverpool manager Jurgen Clop and his coaching staff could make the striker better.
Andy Townsend on Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez
Townsend said: “I like Darwin Nunez, but it’s early days for him. He is a hard-running direct boy. Yeah, his finishing has been up and down. He is raw, but you can see there is plenty to work with.”
Staying positive
In our view, Liverpool fans should be positive about Darwin Nunez.
The striker joined Liverpool only in the summer of 2022.
And he is just 23.
Liverpool are not having the best of times right now, and that is affecting Nunez.

If the Reds were flying, then that confidence would have positively affected the striker.
The Uruguay international striker is working hard when he is on the pitch and is getting chances.
Nunez is simply not able to score as many goals as you would expect a striker to.
The 23-year-old has scored six goals and given three assists in 13 Premier League starts, and has scored four goals in four UEFA Champions League starts for Liverpool so far this season.
Now, we know that Liverpool have a good track record in signing players.
Liverpool fans just need to have faith in Klopp and in his coaching staff to get the best out of Nunez.
