Among the clubs linked with Ivan Toney are Arsenal, and the Brentford striker’s latest performance and subsequent praise from Sky Sports pundits will surely encourage the Gunners.

According to TEAMtalk this month, Arsenal, Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United all are keen on securing the services of the 24-year-old striker in the summer of 2021.

The former Newcastle United striker has been superb for Brentford this season and is leading their charge towards automatic promotion from the Championship.

Toney was in action for the Bees on Friday evening, and once again, he was the difference against Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.

The striker scored the only goal of the game at Ewood Park in the 10th minute from the penalty spot and had a generally good game.

It saw Toney take his tally to 26 goals in the Championship this season, according to WhoScored. The 24-year-old has also provided nine assists.

Former Brentford midfielder Sam Saunders and ex-Blackburn Rovers striker Kevin Davies were in the Sky Sports studios watching the game, and both were impressed by Toney.

Saunders said about Toney on Sky Sports Football (9:54pm, March 13, 2021): “I thought he was immense at times tonight, really led the line well.”

Davies said about Toney on Sky Sports Football (10pm, March 13, 2021): “The only way they are probably going to keep hold of him is if they go up and play in the Premier League. I think there would be plenty of clubs interested. He is the all-round deal for me, he is the full package.”

If Brentford do not get promoted to the Premier League, then it is hard to see the Bees keep hold of Toney, and that could open the door for Arsenal to make their move.
