Some Everton fans on social media have been reacting to reports stating that Christophe Galtier is close to being appointed as Nice manager.
Galtier had been linked to Everton, and Toffees fans had been very open to the idea of the Frenchman taking over at Goodison Park, but now it seems as though he won’t be coming to Merseyside.
To be fair, we can understand why Everton supporters wanted Galtier to come to Goodison, the 54-year-old has just won Ligue 1 with Lille, overcoming Mauricio Pochettino’s PSG in what is an absolutely fantastic achievement for any manager.
Galtier certainly has the pedigree to be a success wherever he goes, but sadly, it seems as though his next job won’t be at Everton.
It remains to be seen which manager Everton appoint, but it will be hard for Farhad Moshiri to find a gaffer who will be as popular as Galtier would have been.
