Naughton could soon find his position under threat at Swansea City.

Reports that Swansea City are close to signing Barnsley’s Andy Yiadom (the Daily Mirror) will be music to the ears of some Jacks supporters. A quick Twitter search suggests those of a Swansea persuasion are not entirely impressed by the performance of their existing right-back, Kyle Naughton, during Monday night’s 3-1 defeat to Everton.

Goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, former Swan Gylfi Sigurdsson and Wayne Rooney saw Everton overturn 1-0 deficit, which was inflicted upon them by visitors midfielder Leroy Fer.

And though Naughton can only really be blamed for his role in Sigurdsson’s strike, his overall display prompted some Swansea fans to call for their club to sever its ties with the 29-year-old.

Swansea are said to have agreed a fee of around £2 million to sign Yiadom, who the Daily Mirror reports they want to ‘compete with Naughton for their right-back berth’.

If some Jacks supporters have their way, he’ll be in the team immediately.
