You have to feel a little sorry for Liverpool supporters sometimes.

Well, apart from being one of the best teams in the Premier League and Europe, having reigned supreme on both platforms in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

But transfer windows generally aren’t as exciting for Liverpool fans as those who follow other English outfits.

Last summer, Ibrahima Konate was the only player to join Jurgen Klopp’s outfit – and even that happened in May, meaning the rest of the window was empty.

And this time last year, a permanent deal to sign Ben Davies from Preston North End was considered essential business.

However, one transfer rumour from Italy certainly has the Merseyside faithful quite excited.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Liverpool are interested in signing Paulo Dybala from Juventus.

Not only that, but the Italian publication has reported that a pre-contract agreement could be signed within weeks, allowing the Argentine to join up with Klopp’s troops for free this summer.

Dybala has had a difficult last couple of years in Serie A but in terms of ability, his is undeniable and bringing him to Anfield on a Bosman might be Michael Edwards’ finest-ever business as Liverpool’s director of football.

Now, whether it actually materialises or not very much remains to be seen.

However, what cannot be disputed is the fact that quite a lot of Reds supporters on Twitter are getting excited over the prospect of signing the 28-year-old.

Here’s how some Liverpool fans are reacting to the transfer rumour on social media:
