Some Arsenal fans on Twitter are worried by the prospect of Sead Kolasinac starting Saturday’s clash away to Manchester City.

Kieran Tierney is forced to sit out Arsenal’s trip to the Etihad due to the fact that he is self-isolating.

Tierney has established himself as one of the Premier League’s best left-backs since football resumed in June and there’s no way that his absence will not be felt in some way.

Kolasinac, who failed to secure a late move away from North London toward the end of the transfer window after being deemed surplus to requirements by Mikel Arteta, is a serious candidate to replace the Scot.

But suffice to say that some Arsenal supporters aren’t enthused by the idea of him coming up against a player like Riyad Mahrez this coming weekend.

Here’s what they’re saying:

Fortunately for those Arsenal fans, Arteta has a couple of different options to use instead of Tierney, but the Spanish coach does evidently rate Kolasinac, who has started three games for the North Londoners in all competitions this season – three more than Mesut Ozil and Matteo Guendouzi.

Bukayo Saka enjoyed a successful stint at left-back last season, whereas Ainsley Maitland-Niles dazzled as a wing-back on that side toward the end of last season which, in other words, means that Kolasinac starting isn’t really a foregone conclusion.
