It seems that many Manchester United fans aren’t actually keen on claims that Anthony Martial could move to Tottenham Hotspur as part of a deal for Harry Kane.
The Daily Mail report that Martial is on Tottenham’s list of potential replacements for their star man.
The French striker apparently could be used as part of a trade deal, with would take Kane to United.
However, many Red Devils supporters still don’t feel that they could be getting the better of the deal.
United fans are backing Martial to be an important part of their squad next year, and a great number don’t want to see the forward join Tottenham.
The reaction is certainly interesting as the prospect of having Kane at Old Trafford surely must be appealing to most United fans.
It does show just how highly Martial is regarded by supporters though, and how much potential the forward has.
Martial is three years younger than Kane, but has never managed to find the back of the net with the same regularity as England’s captain.
Kane’s arrival at United would surely increase their chances of winning the Premier League, but Martial’s popularity is understandable, given the level of his ability when he is at his best.
If Martial was to move to Spurs he would have big boots to fill as a replacement for Kane.
The Tottenham striker has been the Premier League’s most prolific scorer over a number of years now and has reached iconic status at Spurs.
Kane’s departure is still far from certain, but the Spurs striker has never looked this close to the exit before, in what are worrying times for Tottenham fans.
