Some Arsenal fans appear unconvinced by links with Odsonne Edouard, and have suggested that they want Newcastle United to win the race for him.
Newcastle are said to be battling with Arsenal for the signature of Edouard according to The Scottish Mail (print edition, page 131, May 17, 2020)
The report claims that Newcastle will make Edouard their first choice summer signing if Steve Bruce is handed money to spend by their new owners, with the Magpies eyeing up a £25 million deal.
And some Arsenal supporters have suggested that they wouldn’t be too fussed if Newcastle did win the race for the Celtic man.
Edouard has enjoyed a wonderful season in Scotland this term, where he has scored prolifically.
The Frenchman is unproven a Premier League level, but he could really enhance the quality of Newcastle’s attacking options.
Newcastle have struggled for goals this term, with Joelinton, Dwight Gayle and Andy Carroll all failing to hit the back of the net with any regularity.
Arsenal, meanwhile, could need a new number nine as the futures of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are very uncertain.
