Mehrdad Ghodoussi has taken to Twitter to send a message to Newcastle fans, as the Magpies prepare to take on Crystal Palace tomorrow night.

What’s the story?

Well, Ghodoussi was replying to a post from Wor Flags, who have announced that a display will be taking place at St James’ Park on Wednesday evening.

The Newcastle co-owner revealed he is “super excited” to see what Wor Flags come up with ahead of kick-off against the south Londoners.

Ghodoussi also sent a message to Wor Flags, telling them to make sure they get his flag back from Miguel Almiron, after the £20m man was seen waving it around on the pitch following the 2-1 win over Leicester on Sunday.

You can see what he wrote on Twitter in full below.

Clearly, Ghodoussi is fully invested in the supporters at Newcastle, and enjoys engaging with the fanbase on social media.

Can you imagine Mike Ashley embracing the Toon Army in this way? We certainly can’t.

Newcastle could make top six under Ghodoussi & Staveley

Amazingly, Newcastle have won nine of their last 13 Premier League games in all competitions.

Since January 22nd, only Liverpool – with 28 points – have earned more points than Newcastle’s haul of 22 from 11 games.

That equates to two points a game on average, so over the course of a season, Newcastle would win 76 points if they maintained that form.

As things stand, 76 points would have Newcastle sat top of the Premier League, two points above Manchester City.

Of course, an average of two points a game is extremely hard to maintain, but at this rate, Newcastle will be well placed to finish in the top six next season if they can get close to keeping this form up.
