Some Arsenal fans on social media are getting very excited after Duncan Castles claimed that they’re preparing a move for Dan-Axel Zagadou.
Arsenal have a number of centre-backs at the club already, but it seems as though they’re keen to add another to their ranks.
“He’s been pursued by Arsenal and watched by Arsenal as a strong option for some time now. They have, I’m told, been active in preparing a deal to bring him from the Bundesliga this summer, quite a lot of work done on that with the idea being that he’s available for €30m, perhaps less,” Castles said on the Transfer Window Podcast.
As you can imagine, Gunners fans had plenty to say about these links.
A number of supporters were very excited at the prospect of signing the 21-year-old, and it’s not hard to understand why.
Castles described him as ‘excellent’ and one of the best young French players around, so it seems as though he’s a very talented player with a lot of potential.
Of course, the question of whether or not Arsenal actually need another left-footed centre-half is up for debate, and that’s something Edu and Mikel Arteta will have to mull over before making this move, but the Gunners fans would certainly approve of this deal if it came to fruition.
This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on in the coming months.
