Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are reacting on Twitter to potentially signing Jules Kounde.
Gianluca Di Marzio revealed live on Sky Sports News yesterday that Spurs’ new managing director Fabio Paratici would be going for the Sevilla centre-back.
Tottenham need new players all over the pitch – particularly up top if Harry Kane winds up leaving – but they also badly need defenders.
Toby Alderweireld, at 32, is the North Londoners’ best central defender and that’s something that needs to be rectified.

Record signing?
According to Eurosport, Kounde has a £69 million release clause with the Spanish club.
That means Tottenham – whose existing record signing is Tanguy Ndombele at £63 million – will have to make Kounde their most expensive-ever addition, if they are to sign him.
Will they sign him?
Honestly, probably not.
Kounde has much more attractive clubs chasing him than Spurs, it has to be said.
Real Madrid and Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing him this summer and given that Tottenham don’t even have a manager yet, and will compete in the Europa Conference League next season, and may yet lose Kane, Kounde may pass.
