Leeds United fans have swarmed Ben White’s Twitter message ahead of his reunion on Saturday with Brighton.
After White helped Leeds earn promotion to the Premier League, and a drama-filled summer of speculation linking him with a return to Elland Road, he is set to take to that very same field once again at the weekend.
The ball-playing defender was in action for Brighton last night, as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City.
Like he did on a number of occasions under Marcelo Bielsa, White played in the middle of the park and impressed many supporters with his performance against the title-chasers.
But there is a selection of Leeds fans who aren’t keen on him playing on Saturday given that it will be an emotional moment for them.
They have joked that he should sit the game out, but he needs to put on a strong showing at the weekend because Brighton are hovering above the relegation zone and desperately need the points.
It will be an interesting battle between White and the all-action Leeds forward line, who he will know far too well.
