Some Arsenal fans on Twitter have urged manager Mikel Arteta not to rush Emile Smith Rowe into action against Southampton.

Arsenal will take on Southampton at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Smith Rowe picked up a groin problem against Manchester United.

Emile Smith Rowe injury boost

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that the £42,000-a-week attacking midfielder (Salary Sport) has trained ahead of the game.

Arteta is hopeful that the England international will be able to play against Southampton.

Arsenal fans urge caution

As you can see from the tweets below, Arsenal fans are delighted with the update on Smith Rowe.

Well, some of them anyway.

However, they do not want Arteta to rush Smith Rowe into action.

And we agree.

In our opinion, there is no need for Arteta to start the 21-year-old against Southampton if he is not fully sure about him.

We do expect the Gunners to win against the Saints.

Arsenal then face West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

Now, for that game, Smith Rowe is needed.

West Ham are flying at the moment and are aiming for the Champions League places in the Premier League table.
