It looks like Arsenal-linked Houssem Aouar is back in training.

The French midfielder made headlines this week for reportedly refusing to attend Lyon’s training session after being benched against Angers.

According to L’Equipe, Aouar, who was heavily tipped to join Arsenal this past summer, won’t be included in the squad to face Reims later today.

But the 22-year-old is back in training now ahead of the game after posting a photo of himself, alongside a one-word caption:

The Gunners had two bids rejected by the Ligue 1 outfit during the summer and wound up signing Thomas Partey for £45 million instead.

With the January window only a month away, there’s going to be more speculation about Arsenal going back in for Aouar, especially in light of his off-the-field issues this week.

But signing players in January is difficult ordinarily, but it’ll be especially trying now.

The truth is that if Arsenal couldn’t afford him in September or October, when they evidently had £45 million available, then they’re not going to be able to prise him from France in the winter.
