Mesut Ozil looks to be a little more active on social media since missing out on Arsenal’s Premier League squad last month.
Since releasing a statement on Twitter in which he claimed that he was ‘deeply disappointed’ with Mikel Arteta’s decision to leave him out of the revised selection, the 32-year-old regularly delivers pre and post-match tweets about Arsenal games.
But the same is true of his former clubs, it turns out.
Ozil joined the Gunners for £42.5 million from Real Madrid in 2013 and the former Germany international was posting throughout the Spanish giants’ Champions League win on Tuesday.
Real edged out Inter Milan 3-2 at the Bernabeu last night and the Arsenal playmaker posted a series of tweets about his old side.
And although his future in North London looks pretty bleak, it looks like the player would be welcome back in Madrid, going by their fans’ responses to his comments.
Ozil is contracted to Arsenal until next summer and considering he earns £350,000 per week, it seems unlikely that the Emirates Stadium side will be renewing that deal.
