
Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media are very happy after it was reported that Moussa Sissoko could follow in Toby Alderweireld’s footsteps in moving to the middle east.
With all due respect to Sissoko, he’s surplus to requirements at Spurs these days.
The likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and even Oliver Skipp are ahead of him in the midfield pecking order these days, and with Sissoko still on sizeable wages, Spurs would benefit from moving him on.
Luckily, it seems as though there is an exit route opening up for Sissoko, and fans are quite happy to hear that the Frenchman could be on his way out.
Sissoko joined Spurs back in 2016 after Newcastle United’s relegation, and it’s fair to say he’s blown hot and cold during his time in north London.
At times, he’s looked like a world-beater, especially during their famous 2018/19 Champions League run, but over the past 12 months or so, he’s found it harder and harder to cement a place in the squad.
