Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur wanted to sign Jesse Lingard in the summer transfer window on a free, but Spurs missed out on the services of the English playmaker to Nottingham Forest.
Tottenham Hotspur wanted Jesse Lingard before Nottingham Forest move
Lingard, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, moved to promoted club Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2022 on a free after leaving Manchester United at the end of last season.
The Telegraph reported in July that Tottenham were looking into the possibility of signing Lingard.
The attacking player reportedly had admirers at Tottenham.
Now, Spurs may have missed out on Lingard in the summer of 2022, but the North London club could get a second chance at bringing the 29-year-old to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Another chance?
TEAMtalk have reported that Forest are considering offloading Lingard in the January transfer window.
The former Manchester United player has failed to make a massive impact at the City Ground so far this season, and Forest are reportedly open to severing ties with him.
Lingard is out of contract at Forest at the end of the season, having signed a one-year deal with the Reds in the summer of 2022.
