Sam Allardyce and Danny Murphy don’t agree with West Brom fans calling for Tony Pulis to be sacked.

Tony Pulis is under increasing pressure as West Bromwich Albion lost their third successive Premier League match with a 1-0 defeat at Huddersfield Town.

The Baggies now head into the international break just one point outside the relegation zone and on a poor run of form in 2017 as a calendar year.

In 23 matches since the turn of the New Year the West Midlands team have lost 14, drawn six and won just three of their outings in the English top tier.

However, Sam Allardyce and Danny Murphy – acting as pundits on Match Of The Day – think that sacking Pulis would be a huge mistake.

“It is a tough time,” said Murphy. “You know he’ll come through it and you know he’ll get results.

“If they take a gamble and do what some of the fans want they’re going to be playing with fire.”

Allardyce added: “West Brom fans should wonder [sic] what they wish for.

“Tony Pulis has done an outstanding job there at West Brom. Leave him where he is.”

Clearly the West Brom hierarchy agree, for the moment at least, with the Express & Star reporting that Pulis will not be axed over the international break.

The Welshman still has the backing of chairman John Williams, although owner Guochuan Lai may not be so patient if the disappointing results continue towards Christmas.
