Kaka has hailed the rise of Manchester United and Brazil star Antony, who was on Arsenal’s transfer radar during the summer.

The 22-year-old moved to Old Trafford from Ajax for a mammoth fee of £86 million (Sky Sports) in the summer, but it seems as though Manchester United beat Arsenal to his signature.

Life has started in a pretty positive fashion for Antony in England, scoring three goals from his six Premier League games for Erik ten Hag’s side.

Now, the all-action winger is in Qatar at the 2022 FIFA World Cup with Brazil, with Tite’s side progressing to the knockout stages after beating Switzerland 1-0 on Monday.

Nonetheless, Brazil legend Kaka came through the ranks of Sao Paulo as a youngster, before dancing on the European stage and he also spoke about Antony’s rise, as he told beIN SPORTS (27/11/22 at 9:15 pm).

“Antony was playing for Sao Paulo, the club that I started as well,” said Kaka. “At Sao Paulo, he was a good player, then he moved to Ajax and he started to play and perform very well.

“His second and third years playing very well and now he moved to Manchester United. Of course, the price and everything we can discuss it. But I do think Antony is going to do a lot of good things at Manchester United.”

ANTONY WILL COOK AT OLD TRAFFORD

Whilst Arsenal have Bukayo Saka running riot on the right channel, Man United also have their own player that is ready to explode.

Given that this is Antony’s first season in the Premier League, then it wouldn’t be a surprise if he has a few inconsistent moments.

But with his never-say-die attitude, and ability to continue to attack the box like he is searching for a last-minute winner, then Saka won’t be the only one producing the goods on the flanks in the Premier League in years to come.
