Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Ryan Mason has come out to bat for Gareth Bale after a journalist claimed he may have one eye on the Euros.
We all know how much Bale loves playing for his country. After all, he once held up a banner that said ‘Wales, Golf, Madrid. In that order’, but Mason believes he’s just as committed to Tottenham.
Mason completely refuted claims that Bale has one eye on the summer, even going as far as to say that he played through an injury against Aston Villa earlier this week after tweaking his quads.
“I completely disagree with that. I can only speak of my personal experience with Gareth. He’s scored four goals in that time. He played the most minutes he had all season I think at the weekend, pushing 90 minutes,” Mason said.
“Doing that he felt his quads. I don’t think he is thinking about the summer. He was out there the other night playing through the pain for me and this football club.”

If ever someone questions Bale’s commitment to Tottenham Hotspur again, show them this quote.
Bale went into the game against Aston Villa knowing that he could aggravate his quad injury and potentially even miss the Euros due to that, but he came off the bench to try and rescue the game for Spurs.
Unfortunately, Bale couldn’t turn the tide for Spurs against Villa, but the fact that he came on and gave it his all shows just how dedicated he is to the north London outfit.
