Patrice Evra told Sky Sports PL (13/12/20 at 5:25 pm) that Mohamed Salah is ‘playing in the wrong league’ if he feels he was pushed prior to Fulham opening the scoring against Liverpool on Sunday.

Bobby Decordova-Reid opened the scoring in the first half with a thunderous strike, with Evra sharing that not even a ‘great goalkeeper’ like Liverpool’s Alisson is able to save that.

But just before that goal, Salah was seemingly appealing for a push on him as Fulham recovered possession from their own corner before Liverpool were deservedly punished for failing to deal with the situation.

In his own unique way, Evra shared his thoughts on the build-up to Decordova-Reid’s goal before Salah himself netted from the spot in the second half to help his team walk away with a point.

“To be honest, if Salah complains about that push then I think he is playing in the wrong league,” said Evra. “It was a soft push.

“But what a great finish from Decordova-Reid. The quality of the strike. It’s the perfect strike. The goalkeeper, Alisson, even a great goalkeeper cannot do anything about it.”

Two games into the season, Jamie Carragher was writing off Fulham’s season after they lost their opening matches 3-0 at home.

But the team that was playing back then is a completely different animal now and they showed that against the champions of England.

Whilst Liverpool will understand that it’s dropped points against one of the so-called lesser sides, they were the fortunate ones to walk away with a point given how Scott Parker’s men performed in front of their 2000 supporters.
