Julien Laurens has praised Edu Gaspar for his new role at Arsenal by stating that he has played a ‘big, big part’ in the club’s current project, as he told ESPN.
The European football expert added that Edu is being ‘rewarded’ for what he is doing in the Arsenal boardroom, after he was named the club’s first-ever Sporting Director during the World Cup break.
Arsenal are sitting at the top of the Premier League table as nations across the world fight tooth and nail in the searing heat of Qatar for football’s biggest prize.

One youngster from north London that is hoping to light up the 2022 World Cup is Gabriel Martinelli of Brazil.
He was plucked out of the lower leagues of Brazil as a fresh-faced teenager by Edu and he has proven to perhaps be his biggest success story, so far.
“It’s a reward in a way for the good job that he’s done,” said Laurens. “I don’t know if they have given him more money or more power.
“But I think he is very happy – he might have been the technical director and now he is Sporting Director. That is super cool.
“Well done Edu. This is well-deserved. He’s playing a big, big, big part in what’s making this project successful.”

ARSENAL IN THE JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Well, the last few transfer windows have gone very well for Arsenal from signing Gabriel Jesus to boldly booting out Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
But the January transfer window is going to be the most important one yet because of where Arsenal are in the table.
If they get this one right then the reward at the end of the season could be a potential Premier League title.
