Manchester United loanee Andreas Pereira has been linked with a summer move to newly promoted Fulham.

Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte report Fulham have taken interest in the Brazilian midfielder, and even have a ‘principle agreement’ with the Red Devils.

The Cottagers are yet to submit a formal bid, but the two clubs have reportedly agreed on a deal worth £8million plus £2m in bonuses.

Pereira, whose contract at Manchester United expires in 2023, is currently on loan at Brazilian side Flamengo, but with Marco Silva’s side keen to sign the 26-year-old, United’s ‘pre-season Pirlo’ could be playing in the Premier League next season after all.

While Pereira may not have given up on his chances of turning his Manchester United career around with Erik ten Hag now in charge, the versatile midfielder hasn’t made a competitive appearance for the Reds since August 2020 and its highly unlikely that he will be offered a new contract.

There is still a chance that Flamengo could sign Pereira on a permanent deal, but they are unlikely to offer as much as Fulham.

With a move to Craven Cottage potentially being on the cards for Pereira, HITC Sport takes a look at the players who have played for Fulham and Manchester United in the past.

After scoring 46 goals from 102 games for Tottenham, following the Bulgarian’s move from German side Bayer Leverkusen, Manchester United saw off competition from Manchester City to sign Berbatov for £30.75m on the last day of the 2008 summer transfer window.

During his four years at Manchester United, Berbatov scored 56 goals and won the Premier League twice. In the 2010-11 season, Berbatov clinched the top-flight’s golden boot alongside former Reds teammate Carlos Tevez after netting 20 goals.

In August 2012, Berbatov made the switch to Fulham where he stayed for 18 months before moving to Ligue 1 giants Monaco. The seven-time Bulgarian Footballer of the Year scored 20 goals in 54 appearances for the Cottagers.

Following two seasons with Italian giants Juventus, the former Ajax stopper made the shock switch to Fulham in August 2001.

After struggling for years to find a suitable replacement for Peter Schmeichel, Sir Alex Ferguson signed the former Netherlands international who had spent four seasons with the west Londoners.

Van der Sar proved to be a phenomenal signing for Sir Alex and the Dutchman conjured up a deadly partnership with the likes of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand.

During the 2008-09 season, Van der Sar set a world record by not conceding a league goal for 1,311 minutes. He is also the oldest player to win the Premier League, having done so at 40 years and 205 days.

Van der Sar won four Premier Leagues, the Champions League, the Club World Championship and two League Cups during his time on M16.

After being snapped up from Maidstone, Smalling made 19 appearances for the Fulham first team before Sir Alex signed the towering defender.

With Ferdinand and Vidic departed, Smalling became a regular in the United backline under the likes of David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.

However, with the two-time Premier League winner not forming a part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans at Old Trafford – Smalling made the switch to AS Roma where he has been reunited with Mourinho and the pair won the inaugural Conference League together.

As well as winning the Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup with the Reds, the 32-year-old who has been capped 31 times for England made over 320 appearances for United.

After making his Manchester United debut under his compatriot Van Gaal, Fosu-Mensah made 11 appearances under Mourinho during the 2016-17 campaign before spending the following season out on loan at Crystal Palace.

The versatile defender was also shipped out on loan for the duration of the 2018-19 campaign where he joined Fulham. But after making 13 appearances for the Cottagers, the three-time Netherlands international suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury.

Following his arrival from French side Metz, Saha scored 63 goals from 141 games for Fulham and his 27 goals in the 2000-01 First Division season, saw him fire the Cottagers up to the big time and clinch the league’s golden boot.

After scoring 13 goals from 20 appearances in the first half of the 2003/04 Premier League campaign, Saha signed for Manchester United in January 20024 in a deal worth £12.8m.

Saha scored 42 times from 124 games for the Red Devils, but he struggled with injuries and he would go on to play for Everton, Tottenham, Sunderland and Lazio.

Cole won five Premier Leagues, two FA Cups and the Champions League with the Red Devils. He struck up a phenomenal understanding with Dwight Yorke who both played starring roles in United winning the Treble in 1998-1999.

After seven years at the Theatre of Dreams, Cole moved to Blackburn Rovers where he won the League Cup across a two-and-a-half year period at Ewood Park.

One of the best players in the history of football, the silky skilful forward will always remain a part of Manchester United folklore.

The 1968 European Footballer of the Year, who is arguably the greatest player to ever pull on the green shirt of Northern Ireland, scored 179 goals from 470 appearances over 11 years for Manchester United.

The Belfast legend won the European Cup and two League titles with the Red Devils. There is a ‘The United Trinity’ statue of Best outside Old Trafford alongside fellow United icons Bobby Charlton and Denis Law.

Best joined Fulham after being drawn to the Cottagers by the presence of World Cup winning captain Bobby Moore. In 47 games for the Londoners, the 37-time Northern Ireland scored 10 goals from 47 games.
