Liverpool right-back Neco Williams has taken to Twitter to express his delight at committing his long-term future to the club.
As announced on Liverpool’s official Twitter page, the 19-year-old right-back has put pen to paper on a new long-term deal.
The teenager came through the Reds’ academy and has played in the first team already, playing 231 minutes in the Premier League in 2019-20, according to WhoScored.
Described by Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson as an “amazing” player who has “got so much ability and so much energy” on the club’s official website in July, Williams has a bright future ahead of him.
The Wales Under-19 international right-back has expressed his delight at committing his long-term future at Liverpool.
One for the future
Trent Alexander-Arnold is the first-choice right-back at Liverpool at the moment, and that is not going to change anytime soon.
However, Williams is only 19 years of age, and he can only grow and develop if he trains hard regularly under manager Jurgen Klopp.
Able to operate at left-back as well, the Welshman’s versatility could come in handy next season, as Liverpool aim to successfully defend the Premier League title and also compete in the Champions League.
