TalkSPORT pundit Ray Parlour has said that he was “sad” to see Rob Holding leave Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal sold Rob Holding to London and Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in the summer of 2023.

Palace reportedly paid Arsenal £4 million in transfer fees for Holding.

Ray Parlour on Arsenal selling Rob Holding to Crystal Palace

Former Arsenal star Ray Parlour has said on talkSPORT (9:58am, September 8, 2023) that he was disappointed to see Holding leave the Emirates Stadium.

The pundit, though, believes that the 27-year-old is a good signing for Palace and could flourish at Selhurst Park.

Parlour said about Holding: “I was sad to see Rob go because he is such a good guy for the dressing room area, but obviously, he wants to play.

“He has gone to Palace which is a great move for Rob. I am sure he will do a really good job at Palace.”

Rob Holding needed to leave Arsenal

In our view, Rob Holding needed to leave Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Holding is 27 now and is in his prime years.

The Englishman needs to play regular football now.

He has so much to offer.

Crystal Palace are a big and established club in the Premier League.

We believe that Holding could flourish at the Eagles under manager Roy Hodgson.

Holding has made 98 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The defender has scored two goals, given one assist, and kept 22 clean sheets in those games.

Palace will be keen on finishing in the top half of the Premier League table this season.

And, Holding will play a big role in that quest.
