Conor Gallagher will not leave Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea for Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur on the final day of the summer transfer window.
According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur want(ed) to sign Conor Gallagher from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea.
Spurs made a bid of £40 million for Gallagher.
Chelsea turned it down.
The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners reportedly want £48 million plus add-ons for the England international midfielder.
That is too expensive for Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, according to the report.
The Daily Mail has added that Gallagher is happy to stay at Chelse and will now not leave the Blues.
Tottenham Hotspur were always unlikely to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea
We think that it was always unlikely that Tottenham Hotspur would sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea today.
Tottenham left it too late.

Gallagher has been a regular for Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino this season, and the 23-year-old midfielder was not going to force a move out of Stamford Bridge.
While there will be strong competition for places in the coming weeks and months, the Englishman will be confident that he can keep his place in the Chelsea team if he continues to play well.
Spurs should have made bids for Gallagher earlier in the window.
They just left it too late.
