Fabinho’s move to Al-Ittihad has seemingly been delayed due to ‘bureaucratic details’ with a deal to take the Liverpool midfielder to Saudi Arabia still close to being completed.
According to today’s Globo Esporte, a Brazilian outlet, the delay is normal in transfers of this magnitude and not the reported reason for the delay that caused a big stir across social media this weekend.
There have been reports that Fabinho’s two French bulldogs would not be allowed into the country due to a law passed by the country that bulldogs are banned from entering due to their supposed aggressive nature.
This led to rumours that the deal could be off and the player would be staying at Anfield, but the report from Globo Esporte has put that story to bed.

The website have claimed that it has checked the validity of the claims and found that the story was ‘not true’.
The outlet got in touch with Fabinho’s entourage and they confirmed that the story was false and that his dogs weren’t a concern ahead of the move to Saudi Arabia for a reported fee of £40 million (The Athletic).
Fabinho will still leave Liverpool
As well as this, the same outlet reported that a representative from the Saudi Arabian club was in Liverpool last week to work on the final details with just the bank details remaining, implying that the fee is agreed upon.
All being well Fabinho could depart Liverpool this week with a medical needed before the deal can be announced.
Fabinho is set to be the next high-profile player to make the switch although he certainly won’t be the biggest player potentially making the move to the Saudi Pro League with Kylian Mbappe rumoured to have an offer from Al Hilal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
If Fabinho was to make the move, then Jurgen Klopp’s side reportedly have replacement’s lined up with Southampton’s Romeo Lavia believed to be at the top of that list, according to the Daily Star.
