It is a year to the week since Arsenal were given a Europa League fright by a former Tottenham Hotspur winger.
Marcus Edwards, who’d left Tottenham to join Vitoria Guimaraes at the end of his contract that summer, gave the Portuguese side a ninth-minute lead in their group stage tie at the Emirates.
But Edwards’ fun was short-lived, as Arsenal recovered to win 3-2.
Tonight, though, could be the turn of another ex-Spurs wide man to upset their north London rivals.
Nathan Oduwa, whose Tottenham career came to an end three years ago, is part of a Dundalk side due at Arsenal in the same competition.
And Oduwa, who according to All Nigeria Soccer will undergo a fitness test ahead of the game, should have more incentive than most to impress, having spent a decade in Tottenham’s ranks.
Since leaving his local club, the Bloomsbury-born Nigerian has had spells in Slovenia, Denmark and Israel, before switching to Dundalk in March.
Oduwa has played nine times for the League of Ireland side, but has yet to score or assist.
And what an occasion to put that right.
