Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has taken to Instagram to give his reaction to the news that Gabriel Martinelli has signed a new contract with Arsenal.
Arsenal have announced on their official website today that Martinelli has put pen to paper on a new contract with the Gunners.
The Brazil international forward is one of the best young players around and is a key figure at Arsenal.
The 21-year-old is one of the first names on the Arsenal teamsheet.
Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes plays with Martinelli for the Brazil national football team.
Both players were in action for the South American giants at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
And, as you can see from his post below, Bruno is pleased with the news.
However, the Newcastle and Brazil international forward has wished Martinelli ‘Happy birthday’.
Today is not Martinelli’s birthday.
The forward was born in June 2001.
Maybe Bruno is playfully wishing Martinelli ‘Happy birthday’ because today marks the start of a new contract for him.
Interestingly, Bruno could have joined Arsenal before he made the move to Newcastle.
The Mirror quoted the midfielder as saying in February 2022 that although Arsenal wanted to sign him from Lyon and help talks with him, he decided to choose Newcastle instead.
