According to CalcioMercato, Tottenham Hotspur’s Sporting Director, Fabio Paratici, is reportedly in talks with Corentin Tolisso’s agent about a potential move to north London.
If this move came to fruition, it would surely be something of a sickener for Arsenal.
Indeed, not only have the Gunners recently been credited with an interest in Tolisso, the player himself has previously admitted that he’s dreamt of playing for the Gunners.
What’s been said?
Back in 2016, Tolisso was linked with a plethora of clubs after shining with Lyon, and he namechecked Arsenal as one of the sides he dreams of playing for.
“Many clubs make me dream like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and England with teams like Arsenal,” Tolisso told France Football.
“I love the Premier League and I think I have the profile. This is the championship that also offers more competition, which is the most open, the most hard-fought and most spectacular.”
Sickener
Arsenal will surely be fuming if Tolisso ends up at Spurs.
This is a player Arsenal probably could have landed, and probably one that would improve their squad. After all, the Frenchman is a World Cup winner and a Champions League winner.
Of course, he’d also be a great fit for Tottenham, and with Paratici reportedly in talks with the player’s agent, it seems as though a move to Spurs could be on the cards.
It will certainly be interesting to look back at these comments if Tolisso ends up playing for Tottenham.
