Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has told Telefoot that there have been discussions with the club over his future.
The Gabon international striker has said that it is up to Arsenal to decide what they want to do regarding his future.
The 30-year-old is out of contract at the Gunners at the end of next season, and, according to The Mirror, the striker wants a salary close to the £350,000 per week that his teammate Mesut Ozil gets.
ESPN has claimed that Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta is ready to personally get involved in talks to convince Aubameyang to sign a contract extension.
Aubameyang told Telefoot, as transcribed by The Mirror: ”I haven’t recently received a proposition but of course there have been discussions with the club.
“It’s them [the club] who have the keys and for them to do their work. Afterwards we will see what happens.”
Arsenal stay
Aubameyang is arguably the best player on the books of Arsenal at the moment and is one of the best strikers in the Premier League.
The striker would find any top club in Europe willing to sign him this summer, while the Gunners are unlikely to find a player as good as him if they do not finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
Arsenal should do their best to convince Aubameyang to stay at the club next season and beyond.
