Arsenal central defender Konstantinos Mavropanos is wanted by as many as five clubs, according to Football.London, while Sport-FM.gr has claimed that he has already undergone a medical at one of them.

Werder Bremen are leading the race for the 22-year-old central defender, with Stuttgart having also expressed an interest in the Greek youngster, according to the report in Football.London.

The report has added that it was Stuttgart technical director Sven Mislintat who brought the youngster to the Emirates Stadium in January 2018 when he was Arsenal’s recruitment chief for a brief spell.

It has been further claimed that Arsenal are set to sanction a one-season loan deal for Mavropanos, but it remains to be seen which club he actually goes to.

Meanwhile, Sport-FM.gr has reported that Mavropanos has already undergone a medical at Stuttgart and will sign a loan deal immensely.

Good decision?

Mavropanos spent the second half of the past season on loan at FC Nurnberg, and his performance was very encouraging indeed.

With the centre-back still lacking a lot of experience, a season-long loan move to a club in the Bundesliga will help him in his development and progress.

With as many as eight centre-backs on the books of Arsenal heading into next season, the Greek youngster is going to find it hard to get any playing time in 2020-21.

Meanwhile, Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier believes that reported Arsenal target Said Benrahma will play in the Premier League next season, whether that be with his current team Brentford or with another club.

Le Tissier made the comments after being impressed with the winger’s two goals in the Bees’ 3-1 victory over Derby County away from home at Pride Park Stadium in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

According to a report in Foot Mercato in June, Arsenal are among the clubs interested in the Algeria international winger.

Le Tissier said about Benrahma on Sky Sports News (1:56pm, July 11, 2020): “This boy is a special talent.”

The Sky Sports pundit added: “This boy will be in the Premier League next season, not sure who for but definitely will be.”
