Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Donny van de Beek has told his teammates at Ajax that he will join Manchester United, according to Sport.

It has been reported by the Spanish publication that Van de Beek will leave Ajax for Premier League giants United despite interest from Barcelona.

Well-known journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that the Netherlands international midfielder has agreed a deal with the Red Devils and will sign a contract until June 2025.

This will be a blow for Tottenham, who reportedly wanted to sign the 23-year-old as well.

According to Sport, Tottenham made contact with Ajax regarding the transfer of the youngster.

However, it seems that Jose Mourinho’s side will miss out on the Dutchman compared to Chelsea legend Frank Lampard by ex-Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchison on Twitter.

Blow for Tottenham Hotspur

Van de Beek is one of the best young players in Europe, and there is no surprise that Tottenham reportedly want the midfielder who has been starring for Ajax in the Eredivisie and the Champions League in recent years.

The 23-year-old would make Spurs a better team in midfield, but it seems that they will miss out on the Dutchman to Premier League rivals United.
