Tottenham Hotspur wing-back Ivan Perisic is trying to convince Josko Gvardiol to move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Graham Potter’s Chelsea also interested in the RB Leipzig defender, accordion to TMW.

North London club Tottenham want to sign a central defender in the summer of 2023, and Gvardiol is on the radar of Antonio Conte’s side.

Perisic, who moved to Spurs in the summer of 2022 on a free transfer after leaving Inter Milan, plays with Gvardiol for the Croatia national football team.

The two players are now at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

And, according to TMW, Perisic is trying to convince his Croatia international teammate to make the move to Tottenham next summer.

Interestingly, Spurs’ London and Premier League rivals Chelsea are also keen on the 20-year-old defender.

Well-known and well-respected journalist Simon Phillips told Give Me Sport in October 2022 that Chelsea want to sign Gvardiol next summer, and that the defender himself is “open to the move”.

Tottenham Hotspur or Chelsea for Josko Gvardiol?

It will be interesting to see which club between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are able to sign Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023.

Both are big and established clubs in the Premier League, and both the London teams could finish in the top four this campaign, meaning UEFA Champions League qualification for next season.

It could come down to who between Tottenham and Chelsea are willing to pay more transfer fee, and where the defender feels he will have the best chance to progress in his career and grow as a player.
