Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Aston Villa have made a bid for Moussa Diaby, a player Newcastle United also want to sign in the summer transfer window.
Bayer Leverkusen have turned down the offer from Villa for Diaby, but talks between the two clubs are still going on.
The Italian journalist has added that the 24-year-old France international winger wants to move to Villa and has “said yes” to the Villans.
And this will come as a blow for Newcastle.
Earlier this month, Bild reported interest from Newcastle in Diaby.
Football Transfers have also claimed this month that the Magpies are keen on the France international.
However, it seems that the former Paris Saint-Germain winger is keen on a move to Villa instead.
