Jurgen Klinsmann has raved about Nicolo Barella to La Gazzetta dello Sport, amid speculation linking him with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Klinsmann has said that the Inter Milan star is the strongest midfielder in entire Europe.

InterLive reported earlier this month that Liverpool are interested in signing Barella from Inter in the summer of 2021.

The report in the Italian news outlet claimed that the defending Premier League champions are willing to pay as much as €65 million (£55.66 million) as transfer fee for the 24-year-old.

Former Inter and Tottenham Hotspur striker Klinsmann told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Today Barella is the strongest midfielder in all of Europe.”

Nicolo Barella to Liverpool?

Barella is one of the best midfielders in Europe and is a key figure at Inter, who may not be willing to sell the Italy international in the summer of 2021.

The Nerazzurri could end up winning Serie A this season, and head coach Antonio Conte will not want to lose one of his best players.

According to WhoScored, the former Cagliari star has made 24 starts and three substitute appearances in Serie A for Inter so far this season, scoring three goals and providing five assists in the process.

Barella would be a good replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum at Liverpool, with the Dutchman out of contract at the end of the season.
