Reported Leeds United target Mauricio Isla has said that he is in talks with Boca Juniors, as quoted in Ole.

TyC Sports reported this week that Leeds, who will play in the Premier League next season after clinching automatic promotion from the Championship, have made an offer to Isla.

The 32-year-old, who can operate as a right-back or as a midfielder, is a free agent at the moment after leaving Turkish club Fenerbahce.

Ole has claimed that Argentine giants Boca want to secure the services of the Chile international as well.

The former Udinese and Juventus player has said that there have been talks between him and Boca, and he has suggested that his family will play a big role in his decision about his footballing future.

Ole quotes Isla as saying: “If I go to Boca, I go 100%. I will not be there for five months and then come to Europe. It is not about money. If things turn out, of course, you want to play in the best team in South America.

“Boca is on par with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus, because Boca Juniors has always had everything. But you have to speak calmly.”

The Chilean added: “The only conversations with Boca were with Roman, three or four conversations, the rest is seen by my representative.

“It is not a matter of money, it is a different subject from football. I have a family.”

Good signing for Leeds United?

Isla is a very experienced player who would be a good signing for Leeds in the short term.

Having played for big clubs such as Juventus and Fenerbahce, the Chile international will not be fazed by the prospect of turning out at Elland Road.
