Yves Bissouma is a player in demand, with Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City all linked with the Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder.

The Times reported last month that Arsenal and City are keen on signing Bissouma in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool are also reported to be interested.

In fact, the former Premier League champions are so keen on the 24-year-old that manager Jurgen Klopp has ‘spent time personally researching Bissouma’s character and off-field behaviour in order to assess whether the player would be a good fit for his Anfield squad’.

It is clear that Liverpool are very serious about Bissouma, especially as Georginio Wijnaldum is leaving the Reds.

Bissouma is a very good and capable midfielder who can hold his own in the middle of the park.

The 24-year-old could replace Wijnaldum in the team, and given his age, there is every reason to believe that he will get better in the coming years.

However, Liverpool may have to spend a lot of money.

According to Gary Dicker, it could take up to £70 million to sign Bissouma this summer.

Dicker told The Argus: “He has been fantastic. It is always hard for a player when they come to England from another country and try to get used to the surroundings and Covid has made it even more difficult. But he has been outstanding.

“Bissouma is going to have a lot of interest in him and like any player he will be available, but it all depends on the price. I don’t think anyone is going to be out of reach for any football club with the money that is being spent despite the financial impact that Covid has had.

“I hope that Brighton keep hold of him, but if someone comes in with an offer of £60 or 70 million it would be hard to turn down.”

Dicker is a former Brighton player, so you would think that the 34-year-old midfielder would know how the Seagulls work.

However, it is hard to see any club make a bid of £60 million or £70 million for Bissouma.

Perhaps an offer of £30 million or £40 million will be enough.
