Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United could reportedly miss out on the signing of Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Both Arsenal and Newcastle United have been linked with Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the summer transfer window.

Football Transfers reported this week that Arsenal have expressed interest in Kvaratskhelia.

The Gunners reportedly believe their good relationship with Napoli’s new sporting director, Mauro Meluso, will help them get the 22-year-old winger.

Il Mattino reported in July that Newcastle are interested in Kvaratskhelia, adding that Napoli are worried about a potential move from the Magpies.

Blow for Arsenal and Newcastle

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, though, does not plan to leave Napoli in the summer transfer window.

According to AreaNapoli, Kvaratskhelia is happy at Napoli and is planning on signing a new contract with the Serie A champions.

The Georgia international is not taking much notice of interest from Newcastle and Arsenal and plans to continue his journey in Naples.

The report in the Italian news outlet has noted that both the Gunners and the Magpies are keen on the 22-year-old.

This will come as a blow for Arsenal and Newcastle, but we believe that the Premier League duo should still keep tabs on Kvaratskhelia.

Kvaratskhelia joined Napoli in the summer of 2022, and it was always unlikely that the Italian club were going to sell him after one season, especially after winning the Serie A title.

However, the Georgian is not going to stay at Napoli forever.

Perhaps in a year or two, Arsenal and Newcastle could revisit their interest in Kvaratskhelia, who, according to former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher on CBS Sports in March 2023, is “the most exciting player in Europe”.
