Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has reportedly reached a ‘total agreement’ with Bayern Munich, with the two clubs now needing to hammer out a deal.

That’s according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, whose report has been further backed up by Gianluca Di Marzio.

Plettenberg claims that Walker has reached a ‘total agreement’ with Bayern Munich, and that the English full-back is set to sign a two-year contract with an option of a further year with the German side.

The Manchester City right-back, according to Di Marzio, has been identified as a top target for that position, with Benjamin Pavard allowed to leave Bavaria this summer if a suitable offer arrives for the Frenchman.

The right-back has just won the treble with City and now looks set to be looking for a new challenge with Bayern representing exactly what the 33-year-old has seemingly been looking for.

With Bayern winning the league in 10 consecutive campaigns, it would be a surprise if Walker didn’t win the league next season.

Manchester City star Kyle Walker would be superb for Bayern Munich

If the fee is decent, then, for Bayern, this would represent a superb bit of business.

With Pavard, who has been inconsistent for Bayern, looking to be angling for a move away, Walker represents a superb upgrade.

A consistent performer for Pep Guardiola at City, Walker would add pace and consistency to that right-hand side, which Pavard simply has failed to offer.

But, for City, this would represent a risk. With Rico Lewis potentially being the only senior right-back if Joao Cancelo is sold, City would be light in that area of the pitch.

However, the issue wouldn’t be as important due to City’s formation, which sees four centre-backs line up in a back four.

As well as this, the impending arrival of Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig (The Telegraph) would soften the blow of Walker’s potential departure to the Allianz Arena.
